A Legacy of Awards

The Foundation has made over 3,600 awards since it was established in 1946. Awards are approved at the meetings of the Board of Directors and are announced at the end of the months indicated:

January: Special Grant Program in the Chemical Sciences
April: The Dreyfus Prize in the Chemical Sciences; Camille Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar Awards Program
October: Postdoctoral Program in Environmental Chemistry; Henry Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar Awards Program; the Jean Dreyfus Boissevain Undergraduate Scholarships for Excellence in Chemistry

The ACS Award for Encouraging Disadvantaged Students into Careers in the Chemical Sciences and The ACS Award for Encouraging Women into Careers in the Chemical Sciences, both sponsored by the Foundation, are announced by the American Chemical Society, typically in September.
